Cyno in my refugium

[I started up my refugium about 3 weeks ago and have noticed an outbreak of cyno algea. Is this normal? Thanks.]

[While it isn't pretty, it is okay for it to be in there. As long as it grows in there, it tends to not grow in the display.]

[Yes, I do have the flow relatively slow in there. I can pick it up alittle but I thought I read the flow needed to be low for detrius to settle there. ?]

[Even with shutting off the return pump during feedings, my refugium has cheatomorpha covered with detritus. I have a maxijet in mine as well, only to keep the cheato from blocking the eggcrate where the water flows to the return.]
