Can you speed up cycling LR? Got some recently dead LR and been doing 20% water changes with fresh saltwater daily. Levels are still sky high!
 
Take your time, Dien. Let it happen naturally. There is no rush.
 
lols fine, I'll live with the unsightly beast in my family room

since there's no rush, are the 20% daily water changes that helpful or should I just let the rocks sit in their own stew?
 
Are you skimming it?

Lots of flow, and skim hard. Clean your skimmer very well daily. No feeding!

Just got a Maxi 1200 on there but could stick in a mag 7, 9.5, 12 or 24, lols.

I cycled dead live rock for 3 months with a little bit of live rock before using it in my main tank. At 6 weeks I added a few snails & they did fine. After the 3 months I transferred the rock to my main tank. The main tank cycled for another 6 weeks before I started adding any types of corals, crabs, or fish. At 6 months most of the rock is covered with coraline. Good luck.
