Cutting Glass!!

Anyone know a secret to cutting 1/4" glass??

We have tried it twice now - with no success...

We have the plain glass gutter with the ball at one end and the wheel cutter at the other end

Are you dipping the cutting end of the cutter in a light weight oil? If not, that could be the problem. 1/4" glass should snap easily once you score it with the glass cutter.
 
Like bulldog said use oil on the wheel, then once you score it turn the glass over and tap the other side along the line with the ball end. You will see a "runner" as they call it in the glass world, it is just the glass seperating it self. Once you get that the whole way you should be able to put it on the edge of a table and snap it. The edge is not going to be a parfect line unless you have a glass polisher or sander, but it should be pretty close if you have a straight score.
