Current too strong?

do you guys know if the xenias are leaning to the side and not pulsing, but they are open, is the current too strong?

Xenia grow in some pretty strong current in the wild, sometimes. Chances are, it just needs a day or so to adjust to it's new tank.

In my experience with xenia it does best in a low to moderate flow area in the tank. They say it will do fine in high flow areas but you may not get as much extension. I keep mine in my low flow areas so that it just gently sways in the current. Some of my xenia will extend out 8 to 10 inches and pulses all the time.

cool, thanks guys. i guess i'll try to redirect the powerhead or may have to turn one off all together. another question, how do you guys have your power head pointed? mine is just stright from one end towards the other.

Just remember a wide or broad flow stream is a little more natural than a narrow instense stream. A narrow intense stress could tear the flesh of corals and sometimes kill them.

i read somewhere today that xenia pulse due to the ph...might want to google it
