I need to get a 3/4" FPT to an airline hose...

I'd rather not use silicone or glue or luck, teflon and glue please:p

Any ideas? HD was a letdown, going to try Lowes monday.

You need a hose nipple attachment.....go back to HD and look where you would find stuff to hook up a refridgerator ice maker....should be around there....(will be in a plastic bag) one end attaches to the hose and the other is threaded for pipe....

I think they only go up to 1" though.

I have it that way on my return pump.....you will have to attach some plastic zip-ties to snug it to the nipple.

Thats what I was hoping to find, but all they had was brass :( Thier selection of plastic in that department was pretty awful (HD on 635/MacArthur.

I'm trying to plumb my 5g RO/DI jug to drip kalk.

I did the exact same thing. I used 1/4" vinyl tubing though and not airline. I connected it to the jug using a couple of reducing bushings and then thread in a quick connector for the 1/4" like is on an RO/DI unit.

Lowes had a few pieces I needed. I now have a 1/4" ID barb (airline is 1/4" OD). I can get the 1/4" tubing to go on this, but I saw no good valve that can be used with it. I was hoping for a valve like the set screw ones you get for airline, how did you turn the stream of water into a drip?

couldnt you just use two blocks of plastic and screw them together with the tubing in the middle to kind of squeeze the tubing closed to make a drip rate you need?

some chem lab supply places have those hose clamp devices that you set by screwing them in, clamping from outside the airline. A outfit called American Science & Surplus could have them for low price. www.sciplus.com screw compressor clamps

George, that second one is great. Only .12 each! Makes me want to order 25 to get 5% off. What size tubing do y'all use to drip kalk? I use 1/4" tubing myself, so this would work for me.

I bet any medical supply would. They are made for IV drips and such.

Does it ever require adjusting? I thought I had mine set, a nice steady drip. The next day its not dripping anymore. I poked holes in the air spout with a thumb tack (just 3 very tiny but enough) and it still ended up stopping.

Marc, I ordered the .12 model and well....I should have read the fine print. That one is either on or off  So I thought I'd try to clarify this with anyone that was thinking of ordering some. If you are still interested in buying the next size up, Marc please let me know. I'd like to get a few.

This one states it allows variable flow. Is your tubing too large? I know it isn't quite as nice a system as the roller kinds in the other link, but this should in fact work.

Read this again Marc:
"59199 Tubing Clamp accepts tubing up to 1/4 inch O.D. (On-Off Only) Acetal."

That .12 one is NOT variable. Like it says it's either on or off. The other ones below that first one are variable. If it wasn't so late I'd take a pic for you so maybe you could see the difference in them. It's shaped different than the one in the photo. HTH...

Crap, you are right and that is [fine print]. I read the main information where it mentioned being adjustable. Sorry about that.

I'm still holding out for some sort of 1/4" gate valve. Maybe I need to visit dickson bro's and see what they have. I'm using a 1/4" ball valve at the moment but its not nearly granular enough for any sort of decent control.

Maybe this will help put a small piece hose then pipe thred fitting http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=AQ9117 :)
