Lowe's carries, and probably HDepot does, too, that 1/2 CPVC pipe that's an off white color. I've been using it to pipe fresh mixed saltwater to my tanks when I do water changes and was planning to use it instead of that green hose that comes with the Eheim canister filter. But the thought crossed my mind that maybe it's not good to use. I found a 2007 thread on Reef Central where it mentioned the leaching of Bis(2-ethylhexyl)... however further research didn't come up with any other reasons not to use it. I like it because it's about the same diameter as hose but less flexible which is perfect. So my question is, is it safe to use long term in a saltwater tank? Thanks.
