Corals to avoid

What are some corals that do not survive in captivity that are commonly sold in the aquarium business?

Carnation corals are one. And here is an intereasting article

What other corals do not survive?

For the new people that don't know the names of corals. (Come on guys no pics!)

Yes, it is hard to keep a flower pot but it can be done with regular feeding as stated earlier and good water parameters. This is one from my tank. I've had it almost a year. They don't like to be messed with. I keep this one the bottom to prevent a fall. I also have a sun coral that I have had for a while and it is doing great.

Great pics Bill!
I've added a pic of my flower pot with blue rim.

I have to agree with Saj. There are some species of Goniopora that can be kept in captivity long term.
Check out this article:

My flame scallops have been doing great for over a year now. But most people have a hard time keeping them and they slowly starve over the course of a few months. They need a lot of partiulate matter, and it has to be of the right size for then to digest it.
They also only have a natural life span of about 4 yrs, and many of the ones we see in stores are already quite large- I don't know how much that plays a role or not. Here is a good article
