Corals and nitrates?

Maybe it's a silly question but do corals put off nitrates ? I know fish waste and foods do but where corals rely more on photosynthesis and trace elements, then where else would the nitrates come from if anywhere?

Corals do poop but I think nitrates from them would be minimal
