This is my luck that this would happen in the middle of setting up a new tank. I have a coral beauty that Ive had for about a month. Looked AWESOME still does..........minus the fact that the tail fin is practically MISSING!!??? Anyone got any ideas? The only other fish i have a is a false perc and its pretty easy going. I do have a skunk cleaner shrimp snails and a few blue crabs but thats it. I cant get a good picture right now since my digital camera got stolen so ill have to try the cell phone. any help is appreciated

That could be fin/tail rot, or something ate it. You might have something lurking in the rockwork doing damage while the fish is asleep.

And that is all I know. The rest is up to the fish doctors now.

I would verify your water parameters. Hopefully it's not fin rot which would require treatment outside of your display in an established hospital tank.

Cheers!

Params are good so im not sure what to do cuz i dont have an established tank to put the bugger in to see if i can treat him. This sucks!!

If you really have "blue crabs" in your tank then that is most likely your problem. If they are just "blue leg" hermits, then it's something else.
