Coral banded - Lost his claws!

[I just upgraded my tank this weekend. In the process I was moving all the livestock into large tupperware containers until I made the tank swap. The only way that I could get my coral banded shrimp was with my net...as soon as I grabbed him he started flipping out and lost both of his arms. There is nothing in the tank that is going to mess with him (where he would need his claws for defense)...Do you guys think he will be alright?

Oh yeah...and within hours of being put into the new tank he molted. I don't know if the molting process weakend him and this caused him to loose his pinchers or if it due to stress.

Other than that everything went pretty smooth. A few of my red mushrooms and the trumpet coral have still not opened. I'm hoping that they will be alright!]

[My CBS lost his claws in a tank transfer as well and he molted rapidly/weekly for a month or so until they were full size again. The claws did reappear after the first molt, after they were full size he went back to his regular molting schedule.

You might want to be extra regular about your water changes while he is growing them back, to keep up an adequate level of iodine.]

[Thanks for the help!

The tank transfer went pretty well. The only other loss was some red mushrooms, including one of the largest. Now the rock looks almost bare. :sniffle: I made the stupid mistake of not using a heater in the large tupperware container during the transfer. The water temp dropped considerably over the couple of hours it took to get everyting done.]

[Red mushrooms are tough to kill. Are you sure they died, just because the water was cold? I have a feeling they'd recover. After all, I've had some for over 3 years.]
