Cool Power Panels

After a day of trying to straighten out my electrical disaster on the 265 I started looking for electrical solutions and came across these. To me they look a lot cooler than the American DJ ones.

I bought mine from here. Not recommending them yet because I haven't gotten anything yet.

Here are some pics I found on the net of a guys electrical cabinet. I think I am going to do something like this, but match the cabinet to my stand/canopy.

Just thought I would share in case I'm not the only person here with electrical nightmares.

they also carry a 4 bank (if you have limited space)

David and myself just bought 2 of these from this site. I favored the silver/blue and he got the black/red to match his existing equipment. They are great.

nice looking build - what's the unit on the bottom right? said:
It's not my stuff. Just stealing some of his design...and liked his power panels. I think the thing on the bottom right is a Tunze 7094 Multi-Controller. Mine doesn't look like that one. Mine is the 7095.

I took my plans to my brother in law who is quickly becoming my favorite carpenter. :D It going to match my stand and canopy for the 265 and the clam tank.

I posted this in my 265 build log too but thought I would update this thread since I finally got mine installed!

I took a picture of the one at the top of this page to the guy (my brother in law) who built it for me to give him some idea what the heck I was talking about. I am very pleased with how it turned out! I am loving having a great carpenter in the family!

Angela I noticed you have four Dj units, and that you also have a controller, so you use the contoller for only some things. The better question is how can you use the controller and the DJ units together?

The AC JR doesn't control any of the DJ units. I have a DC-8 connected to the AC JR (a telephone wire connects them and tells the DC-8 what to do) that has my lights, heaters, and co2 regulator hooked to it. These are the things that I need regulated as far as when to come on and go off (depending on time, temp, pH, etc).

Everything that runs 24/7 is plugged into the DJ units (all pumps, tunzes, skimmer, etc.) The tunzes have their own controller so they don't need to be controlled by the AC JR.

Honestly I could have probably gotten by with just two of the DJ units, but I didn't want them completely full. With the four of them I will have enough plugs to last a lifetime I think.

that looks very familiar  , althought your tank is a little more power hungry than mine is right now. Oh and the fact your cabinet is custom built to match your tank and mine was a wal-mart clearance  .

Perfect time on the link for the better priced controllers. I need a few more for my different tanks.

Cabinet looks really good. Looks like the tangs are checking it out, too :) I guess they approve.

me likey.

This has now given me reason to finally go get some of these. Thanks for the push...=). Not that I didn't have reason before....sometimes it just takes seeing it on the board for me to think...hey, I need that.

Thanks for the replies. I am enjoying it. It is great to have a guy that knows how to build stuff in the family.

He probably doesn't feel as lucky to have me and my never ending projects. :D

Thanks
Angela
