55 gal freshwater tank currently. Thinking about converting it to marine tank. Concerned because it is a DAS system. How feasible is this? Even with a protein skimmer? Concerned about high nitrates with this method. Also the current lighting sits on top of the glass. I am concerned that metal halide lighting might be too close to the water. Wondered how good the filtration would actually be. Also considered cheato in that column but thought it might be obstructed.
