What do you use for connecting multiple electric plugs to one socket?

I have two to 4 items to connect to one socket -- EB8. For instance, I have two lights (two blue and two white) that I want to turn off and on. I don't want to use four EB8 sockets so I plug two into an extension cord then into one socket. But, since the lights are three prong, it takes a heavier extension cord (which tend to be longer and have lots of extra wire). Sometimes I have up to four items that can be simultaneously control by one socket on the EB8 -- I have to plug a surge protector into the EB8 to control them all at once.

What have you found to work better -- organizing these uncontrollable wires everywhere?

Found this one. Google power cord splitter and you can find different lengths and number of outlets. I've used 2 into 1 before. As long as the gauge is big enough they work fine.
