Ok...I know it's not the "best" wavemaker out there, but I've got to say that it's doing a GREAT job of keeping junk from settling. When I first hooked it up my tank had a bit of a detritus storm.

I have three MJ1200's that I have modified by cutting off the outlet and drilling more holes into the intake. That made a big difference. But when the wavemaker turns them on and off, it switches the direction of the flow of the MJs because I modified them. WHAT a difference!

Hopefully my corals will like it, too!

So while not "the best", it's certainly a big improvement and I didn't have to drop over $400 on it!

Thanks, Nick 8)

I may need to pick one of these up. Does it do an instant on/off switch? I would love for it to instantly switch directions.

Well, it alternates the powerheads for you. Here are more details about it:

The MJ's I have switch flow direction because I've modified them - not sure that would happen if they were "whole".

Whew, glad you like it Misty, it did its job very well when I had it on my 90 gallon. Many cool features that help when your feeding and the nite mode is cool.

I got away from it mainly because Texas heat is horrible, and I know having 4 Powerheads added a few degrees to my tank. Now I have a Tunze Stream on 30 sec on/off and a sea swirl on my return(just have to replace the motor on my sea swirl).

In any case, Im happy it worked for you and my only regret is I was working and couldnt be there to show off my tank and my dogs :)
