Come on! I think my acro is teasing me!

I have had this acro in my tank for about 8 months now and it's never had any color other than a light blue and brown. Well over the last week I started to notice this bright color growing out of one of the ends. I've never really had a coral color up for me, so I was wondering do they usually start to show color in sections like this?

Whatever you are doing, it looks like it enjoys it. Have you changed any feeding or lighting recently?

When you got it, it was kinda stubby, now its more defined and longer branches. That could be the reason, as its 'growing up' its coloring up for you. If the second picture is accurate, the lower portions are still brownish correct?
 
The tips tend to be the color in many SPS, or at least a different color since that is where growth occurs.
