came home and my wife just started to feed the tank -- I never get to see this as when I'm home I feed. It was pretty colorful so I ran and got my camera

Beautiful tank. What type of rock did you use? said:
not sure - i bought 270 lbs from another member to set this up and added about 140lbs of lace lava rock. the arches and most of the bottom rock is lava rock

thanks for the nice comments

I thought that was lace rock! Where did you get the pieces? I was really considering using lace rock to form the same type of structure that you have.
I use to have fiji but just didn't like the look of it. I really wanted bigger pieces that would be used for a more solid open structure.

I'm assuming that's just local stone distributor. I will have to look into that.

Thanks!

Looks great! I did just about the same thing this evening. I'll start my own thread though.

thanks Mike! I'll tell Allen if I see him!

thanks evryone

the tank's go live date was Sept 06, so it's about 15 months old

I had a huge advanage in buying 270lbs of someone's live rock from a well established system he was breaking down
