Color Changing Clown?

So I bought two baby maroon clowns the other day. Or so I thought they were both maroon clowns. It seems that whenever the dusk/dawn/moon lights come on, one clown stays maroon and the other turns pitch black.

At first I thought the one that looked black was just darker and it was hard to see so I gave it an hour in the dark, then flipped on the light and it was pitch black with white strips.

Anyone ever seen this before or am I just going crazy?

My baby Maroon had all white stripes when I got the fish it was 3/4 inch in length, it took 4 months before I started to see any yellow/gold in the stripe. It started at the head and within 3 months of seeing the first signs of color it was completely changed to a bright yellow within 5 months of purchase. The fish was about 1 1/2 when that happened.

I bought a pair of percula clowns from one of the breeders in the club, and as babies they were a light orange. Now that they are larger, they are darker, and gorgeous!!! Black, orange and white!
