Clowns Tank Raised Vs Wild Caught

I was told that tank raised clowns will not host. That only wild caught clowns will host. Does anyone else's tank raised clowns host.

Host Anemone? Of course they will, It's coded in their genes. My Black Ice pair Host my RBTA the minute I placed them in my tank. I hear it could take up to a couple days. Just be patient.

I have a pair of tank bred Ocellaris clowns that started hosting an anemone about a week after I added it to the tank. I have since moved the clowns to another tank without a nem and they now host some frogspawn.

Also, most clownfish sold these days are tank bred with only a small % being wild collected. There is a push within the industry to get some standardized naming in place for marine fish:

Wild Collected / Caught / Harvested : The organism is taken directly from the wild and put in an aquarium.

Tank Conditioned / Captive Conditioned : Wild collected organisms kept in tanks, conditioned to eat commercial aquarium foods, and accustomed to tank conditions.

Tank Raised / Captive Raised : Eggs or pre-settlement larvae collected in the wild, then grown or raised in tanks in facilities on land.

Tank Bred / Captive Bred : Organisms that were spawned and raised in tanks / captivity in facilities on land.
