How many clowns can you have in a tank? I've been told different things. I have 2 true percs about 1" each and I'd like to add another pair. Tank size is 100g.
 
You can have two or more but if they host in the same area you are going to have fighting. If they host at the ends of the tank then you might be ok.
 
I would say it would be darn near impossiable to add another pair to your tank. 2 pairs may have had a chance if put in the tank at the same time.

My female TP will case any fish out of her area besides her mate. I have a 180 and my clowns host on the very far end of the tank, but I still would not try to introduce anther pair.
 
+1 to the above, I think adding them all at once helps greatly with success of multiple pairs.

I'd say 1 pair... maybe a trio of percs or Ocies.. but any other clown just the one pair. You can keep multiple percs/ocies but when you mix species you want room so they can establish their own space and not run into fighting. Some, like GSM, Tomatoe etc... the largers are very aggressive so I wouldn't even try multiple pairs of those in anything under 300G (or mix species).
