There are two main types of carpet anemones, and pink skunk clowns will only host in one of them, so if you have the other type of carpet (which is a good possibility, because its a blue), there is a really good chance that they will never go into it. I can get into much greater detail about the types, but I don't want to bore you.
As for the pair splitting up, it does happen if there not to sexual maturity yet, and I'd say there is about a 50-50 shot that she goes back into the RBTA with him. You can always try pulling the male out for a couple of days, and keeping him in seperate tank, or fuge. Giving her a chance to retake the anemone, and then reintroduce him back to the aquarium.
Or you can you can just leave them be, and see if she will go back into the anemone after some time. Mine split up for a couple months before getting back together.
Worst case scenario, there just not a pair. Some clowns are sold as pairs, and really aren't. Until they spawn, there not techinally a pair, but the can still get back together.
Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck,
Drew
