Clown with black spots - Pic's inside

[One of my clown's has some black smudge looking marks on her side. Has anyone see this before? It looks like someone marked on her with a magic marker.....

[Blide, personally I don't know what those spot marks are. 737mech may have a point. But, I've never seen and clownfish's color change start out like that? I might stick with your presumption on a disease a little bit longer just in case?]

[I also have a clown fish that has similar marking as well. At first, I was assuming it was ick. Now, I don't know what it is.]

[I agree with Matt, but I am not sure if the sting of the coral causes it, or if it is something else about the coral. My percs host in a colt, which doesn't pack much, if any sting. I have seen many posts about this same thing over the years. Your clowns are fine.]

[I also think that makes good sense. Steve I thought for anything to be in the coral genre it had to posses Nematocysts (stinging cells)... even a colt coral?]

[You may very well be right. I don't know. I can not even say for sure that coral hosting is what causes it, but there is a good case for that being true. My point as stated was that a colt doesn't pack much of a sting, if any. To prevent a debate we we will go with the former. :rool eyes:]
