clown v. euphyllia

It appears my gold-banded maroon clown is mistaking my frogspawn for anenomes, he's not even just picking one spot to hang at but is wallering all over both(I have two kinds). I've tried training him by chasing him off w/ nets then positioning them near the corals.. hehe yea he's smart and learned the nets only moved if I was there, and to dart away from the f-spawn if I walked up.
I have him sequestered in a seive at the moment, my question is, can the froggies and clown be friends? Can they get used to him or will they stay shrinky and die off? He doesn't seem bothered by their sting.
 
One of my clowns hosts in my frogspawn. The frogspawn didn't like i for the first day, but after that, it was no problem.

The only problem you /might/ encounter is if one or more of the polyps becomes damaged as a result and leads to a Brown Jelly Infection (corals of the Euphyllia family are notorious for this).
 
I had a couple of clowns that hosted in my zoanthids. The coral closed for a couple of days, but after that everything was just fine. You shouldn't have any problems with your coral.

They hosted in zoas? Thats very interesting...
Now that I think of it, my tank isn't that large, and it's been a concern of mine that my frgspwn will get too large and kill everyone else in the tank.
Maybe the clowns attentions will keep them from getting huge?
 
Clowns can host in just about anything that won't eat or harm them. Mine hooked up with a pagoda cup until I introduced the GBTA which has a softer bedding :)

In a friends tank, they also host in a frogspawn and totally ignore the BBTA. Werid
 
Don't be concerned about that. You can always break off heads of the frogspawn and sell them when it starts to get too large. said:
I've never fragged a coral.. I still get upset if I just bump one, let alone lol. But, yea, you're right..- theyre growing like crazy, but I think i still have a year or so before I have to worry about that.

And so I've let my clown(Milhouse) out into the tank- before i locked him up he was favoring the one of the two froggies I would have preferred he host in- now he's hot after the other one, despite all my positioning of nets and finger waving :lol: oh well.
