Clown Tang question

Does anyone here have a clown tang? What are your thoughts on keeping one of these with several other tangs like a Powder Blue, Blue and Yellow tangs?
I know they can grow quite large but I'm planning on buying a small one and watch it grow.

Thanks for your help

I do not have a Clown Tang but did a fair amount of research and opted against it after reading about horror stories with even small clown tangs going ballistic on other fish. I also looked into Sohal Tangs and opted against getting one for similar reasons. I'm sure you can find people who have had success but those seem to be luck of the draw depending on the personality of the fish. On the plus side, you got a good sized tank which would probably help.

I have a similar mix of tangs as what you have listed (Powder Blue, Blue Hippo, and Purple) and wanted to get something that was not as common so I looked into getting an Achilles, Fowleri, or Dussumieri. Ruled out the Achilles as it would probably get into it with the PBT and finally opted to go with an Australian Dussumieri as I thought it looked nicer than the Fowleri. I know the Dusser will eventually outgrow my tank as they can get huge but I would either adopt him out or upgrade when that time comes. My Dusser is larger than all the other tangs but it pretty much leaves everyone alone and is rather calm. If you are looking for a large colorful tang, I would recommend the Dusser.

I had a small clown tang that I thought was going to die as they are hard to get to eat. Once he was eating and living with 2 yellows and blue tang which is about 7" he started picking on everyone so I sold him off.

Sent from pay phone in the airport.

Thanks for the replies. I got a Lieutenant Tang instead that resides with a powder blue, orange shoulder and regal blue tang. I'm now in search for a yellow tang as the one I got from the local shop did not make it.
