Clown Fish has cloudy eyes....

Are there little white specs around his eyes. Does he shake his head around. If so he probably has flukes. If you can catch him. Give him a freshwater bath for 3-10 minutes. Then look in the bottom of the container and see if you see any little white specs. You can also use Prazipro.

Is this in the same tank as viewtopic.php?f=30&t=93919 or is in the tank you talk about seeding the deadrock rock from?

You don't want fish to have to dseal with a cycling tank, if so. Ammonia could be your culprit. How long has the tank been up and running? Is it cycled? Can you get a picture? What's the measurements of ammonia, nitrites and nitrates?

Although it could be flukes, you really shouldn't disregard all other sicknesses because we are working with very limited information and it would be helpful if you could expand with answer of some of the above questions.

Unfortunatly the little guy didn't make it. Not sure what it was. He didn't have specs, or white spots or anything....only thing weird was he had long white stringy bowel movements (not sure if that means anyting). We purchased a new clown from a lfs a few days before, and that is when we noticed the contrast in color (ours was much lighter than the new one). A few days after that when I got home from work, I noticed his eyes were cloudy. I took him out of my DT and set up a hospital tank. The next day he was a done. I am closely monitoring my other fish, and so far they all look and act fine.

This is not the tank where I am seeding the dead rock, I still have that going in the garage. My parameters are all fine, tank had been established for two years before I bought it and transfered it (water and all). Any help or suggestions would be useful for the future.

Thanks,

Eric

Tank transferred Dec 31st. All fish that were transferred are doing great. I bought that clown about two weeks after I got the tank. Had him for a little over three weeks before he got sick...

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate less than 5 (I did have high Nitrates when I first got the tank, but after removal of old sponges, filters, and bioballs, along with vacuuming the substrate and built in filter system of detritus, they have subsided)

Phosphates 0
Ph 8. 4
Calcium 440
Ak can't remember off the top of my head, but it is in the parameters of the test kit
Water temp @ 78 and salinity good

I'm a firm believer in a quarantine tank. I was able to set mine up for about 50 dollars. Used tank on Craigslist and a cheap filter, heater and a cheap light. I set it up when I first set my tank up and fortunately I have only lost one clown fish that jumped out of the tank and got stuck in the eggcrate that covers the back of the canopy. I would look into a quarantine set up for future additions.
