Clown fish advise

I have a couple of juvenile false percs, I've been wanting to add a couple of either Picassos or black percs. The false percs are timid and keep to their frogspawn (even though I have a SRBTA that needs hosting) and small. I had a maroon clown with them at one point and they all got along. Since the Picassos and black percs are ocellaris is there a potential problem here?

Thanks

While they will school as juveniles, as they get older, they will exhibit more aggression as they try to become top dog and get more territory. How big is your tank? In very large tanks, they would have room to get out of each others way. If it's not a good bit over 100g, I would think about it from this angle: would you be willing to risk one of the picassos being killed because they don't have enough room?

Thanks for the reply!

it's a 75 but 4' long and I don't have many fish, and only 1 kind of big fish so they will have plenty of room to stay away from each other. Actually I was hoping on the opposite of what you said, as they get older they were have become familiar with each other. That's why I was hoping that as juveniles they leave each other alone and then as they grew they be used to one another....but as I said, the tank has plenty of "separation" room. The 2 false percs host a frogspawn that is at one end and I'm hoping the others will host in the anemone which is at the entirely other end. I guess that since they are so small I have the luxury of having some time before they mature and if one "pair" does become aggressive towards the other, at that point I can give the false percs away

I have to say David is right and that is just their nature to be partnered with the mate and the rest are shunned outside till one dies and the next biggest will take over as the male.

I have a 90g long an as much as I would love to put a couple of my babies in there I think the territory of them would not allow for another pair or it might. Just not a chance I would want to take. I have seen where people have kept three or four clowns but always in large tanks. Hope this helps.

I decided not to risk it, I've been wanting a pair of black clowns and one presented itself today but I don't want to risk the black clowns not being as "tough" as the false percs. I put the false percs on a post in for sale for free to someone that can provide a good home and can get them today as I don't want to leave them in a bucket overnight. Someone is on the way, thanks for the advice!

Probably a good call. Even though your tank is 4' long, there's nothing saying that one pair won't decide to make their home right in the middle of the tank and claim the 2' to each side.
