Cloudy tank is fustrating

[hi, i have a 29 gal tank that has established for 2 months now. all parameters are great, except it is a bit cloudy. i think it might be because of micro bubbles from the sump, but i don't know how to prevent this. i have baffles and a fuge. it could also be from the new seio 820 i installed that blew a lot the detritus off of the rocks. how long should it take for the tank to clear up? thanks]

[Wal-mart or Petco are cheap. It's most likely your Southdown make the water look cloudy. It takes time for it to settle and the sand itself is very light which makes it stay in the water column longer. :glare:]

[orchid: sorry i didn't address this before, but yes, i am running a skimmer. it's a bakpak, and it seems to be producing adequate skimmate. how long does the carbon last before i change it?]

[Or every 3 days. ;) I use it once a month for 3 days, if I think about it.]
