closed loop pump

i need a closed loop pump for a 75 gallon tank ... needs to be quiet, low power consumption and reliable ... would an eheim 1262 work??

It would work, but wouldn't produce a whole lot of flow, 1262 only produces 900 gph at zero head. and around 800gph at 4ft head and that with 90's and 45's plumbed in. I would go for something that pushes a little more water. Ocean Runner 1800 may work better IMO.
 
i second the above post. I set up a closed loop on my 90 using a QO 3000 752 gph pump and should have gone wayyyy bigger as the scwd im using slows down the flow even more, I would go up a size from what you think will be good, maybe even two sizes
 
well, i plan on using an oceans motions squirt as opposed to a squid and i also want to use a vortex pump for extra flow - the closed loop will be more targeted for extra flow - random - i want to shoot for around 1000 gph from it, but, i am not sure

how quiet is the pump you have and how many gph?? what is the wattage on it?
 
i have a mag 7 and mag 5 for return and skimmer, the QO3000 on my closed loop is much much quieter than either mag. I have also heard that the eheim pumps are even queiter then the Quiet one pumps
