someone needs to go to dna with a decent camera and take a picture of two clams i saw there. They have 2 clams i swear that are at least a foot long each for sale

Here's one from Tranquil Scape in Arlington.

Here is my Derasa.

I bought it from Marine Center when they were still in Dallas. I have had it since June 2002. It was about 3" when I bought it and it is about 7" now.

Here's a top view of my current clam (I have horrible luck with clams for some reason... If this one doesn't make it, I'll probably give a pass on clams for a few more years again. In the last year I've lost a Derasa, a Squamosa, and a Crocea)

This one is deep blue form the side, but bright green from above...

Same clam, closeup of the mantle from the side:

And for anyone interested in clams, one of the speakers at Next Wave next month is going to be James Fatherree, author of "Giant Clams in the Sea and the Aquarium"

Here's my crocea, I also have a squamosa that I'll try to get a decent picture of tomorrow. It's about 6-7", but not very colorful.

Yeap, I've had this clam under PC's in my nano for three weeks now opens up like a champ. But won't stay for long moving to the 120 in a few weeks.

These guys are starting to color up. I'm new to clams, but here are the ones I have now.

Nice sized crocea

A few small maximas:

You can barely make out the little bluish one. I think it's going to be nice when colored up. All pics under 10k without any actinics.
