Chillers

I just bought a used chiller for my system and need some info on the best way to hook it to the system. Can I connect it to the sump pump return( to the tank), connect to the return to the sump or should I get a separate pump and just loop it into the sump? My understanding is that the controller turns the compressor on and off so why put another pump in the system? Am I wrong?

mine is hooked up to my return line, but you need to check the suggested flow rates form the manufacturer, if too slow you can freeze your Freon lines, if too fast it will loose effectiveness/efficiency

my friend runs his with a second pump in his sump then goes to one of his return lines. so you have secondary movement if the main pump fails not sure how he breaks siphon on first pump if it fails...i can find out if you are interested

I run mine on one of my return lines, but the extra distance does affect the flow at the return nosel a little bit. So if your return pump is most of your tank flow then a second pump is appropriate.
