check this reef out

I think the seam is thatinside right angles are hard to cut without cutting into the sheet. as most don't want to use a jig saw to cut strait. but It could be made fairly easy. I thinK we should try

Pretty cool. I wonder how he reaches the bottom, and what all he has living on the wall portion, and what sort of flow he's getting down there. It's so shadowed that I'd guess that only sponges would be comfortable.

Am I the only one that thinks it's odd how that purpleplume gorgonian is sticking out to the side?

You are right on the right angle cutting.... I am in love with the design though.

i would think it would have to be acrylic to get this done correctly...i would not trust a glass cages tank on this type of tank and i own two of their tanks

So the more I think about it, it wouldn't be that hard. good panel Saw or table saw a router with flush bearing bit and some sheet just weldon two pieces in a right angle then a buck & front. put your sides on and route out the inside 90° angle. It would leave a radius but not that bad.

You could do it in glass, but you'd end up with a rounded corner that has to be ground square. Cut a hole where the corner should be, then connect from the edges to the hole.

I was curious about how easy/practical this tank would be. I sent the link to Tom at AGE this could be a sweet display in a store or in someones home. It doesn't look very deep in the front but if you were able to make the bottom area wider you could easily put a 400w over the area and get at least decent light to that area.

probably would be easier to use a normal tank and make a box inside it and then it could be used as an internal sump.

AGE said they could build that tank with a combination of glass/pvc without the seam on the side. Definitely worth doing giving a shot. Imagine the low light corals you could put under overhangs on the drop down area. Large carnation type corals and sponges. I've gotta have one.

when can we expect to see this new display tank up and running in your store Dane?

Wes that depends on the next quote I get back from AGE ;)

I am taking that design a step further and hopefully it doesn't make it crazy expensive but I have something in mind.

We are already planning our new store/location and it's in the works.

I will keep you posted.
