Changing Salt

I've read that when changing salt, it has to be a slow transition. I just wanted to know the actual process. I have a 29g tank and I do 5 gallon water changes every 2 weeks with IO.

I got lazy and bought saltwater from the fish gallery. Its actually about the same price as mixing my own.

I 'spose it couldn't hurt to take it slowly, but I didn't worry about it...

Unless you're doing a major water change, you'll only be replacing 10-20% of your water with the new salt at a time anyway...

Just my opinion and experiences, of course...
 
same I was buying water from my LFS and they used Kent. I wanted to up the salinity from what they were using so I decided to mix my own and used reef crystals. I did not see any negative change and, actually, got more growth out of my sps.
