Chaeto has purple slime

Chaeto has purple slime with bubbles in any idea???

Ok I did a 10gal wc, pulled the fuge out and cleaned it washed the Chaeto and added a power head for more flow. Hope that will work.
 
sounds like cyno and its due to a lack of flow in your sump. If its not in your main tank its ok ... it'll go away eventually. Mine did.
 
Yup, cyano. Give it a shake to dislodge it, and turn the chaeto every so often to make sure all of it is getting light.
 
Do you think adding the power head will help? The fuge is in a small aera on the other side of my CPR packback, I have rock on the bottom, power head in the middle with the outlet pointed up and the Chaeto on top so the powerhead shoot up thru it. Sound right???
 
Well, the root cause of cyano is excess nutrients. Feed less, skim better, more frequent water changes, etc are what most folks do to get rid of it.

Sometimes all that's needed is time. (Cyano frequently pops up in the first six months of a tank's life.)

For now, shaking the chaeto out and looking at your water change schedule would be my first step.
