Can't reach dead fish :(

During feeding this evening, I noticed my red lipped blenny wasn't swimming around hogging all the food...
I searched and searched and searched, then finally found him dead under an opening under one of my base rocks...
I've tried everyway I can think of to get to him, and it's just not working...
The only other thing I can think to do is to take everything out in order to reach him... I REALLY don't want to do that!
Anyone else ever have this problem? any other ideas?

If you have a good cleaner crew he might be gone in the morning.

Otherwise, if you can reach him with some tubing you could suck him out. I don't mean thru the tube, but get the end on him, draw a vacumn and pull him into the open. Then net him.

As has been stated, if you have a decent clean up crew, there won't be a trace of him by morning...
However, having said that, if you don't have a good clean up crew, or if there's, not to be crude, but anything left by morning I'd definitely do whatever it takes to get him out, or he'll start to pollute the tank quite badly...

Tried getting a siphon going like for a water change, and working the tube over to him to suck him onto the end of the tube, then pull him out to where he can be netted?

(I think that idea was already mentioned, I just phrased it a little differently...)

Oh, and in the fuss about trying to remove him, sorry about your loss... :(

Thanks everyone for the quick responses! Wow!
Well, I got him out first trying with the siphon then finally with a wire hanger. When I pulled him out, it looks like the clean up crew had already gotten to him  but at least those little suckers are doing their job!!!

Thanks again! Once again you all help pull me through another crisis!

Ah, poor fishie

I have a four foot tall tank, and sometimes I have to bend a wire hanger to curve under the rocks. Usually the hook end works best to push or pull with.

Most LFS also carry black plastic tongs, and if it is a straight shot down, they work great.
