can you put a MH mogal vertical insead of horizontal

i was wondering how that would affect the par of the bulb. I was hoping to do a small 250w pendent over the top of my 29gal but using the old equipment. I know i can get an HQI to do a cleaner job but i have this 250w mogal i would like to try and use. Thanks

you sure can. Some of the pendant fixtures are made this way.
