Can I put reactor pump in fuge???

I just purchased a Bulk Reef Supply dual reactor and wanted to know if I can place the 1200 maxi jet pump in my fuge and then the "OUT" tube back into my refugium for additional flow.

My fuge is a unique size, 8 inches wide by 14 inches long by 14 inches deep. I have 1 to 2 inches of sand, some live rock rubble against one wall and a ball of chaeto.

Hi,

I would not put the pump in the fuge, it will suck in beneficial life and debris, which could clog up your reactor media. You also want your dirtiest water going into your fuge, the phosphates and nitrates will help the algae grow. Just my opinion on this as I'm sure others may have different views.

Cheers,

definately agree...i had to run a reactor in a fuge for a while cause i had no space elsewhere and it was the biggest pain ever. i put a sponge on it to try and prevent it clogging so often but i was still cleaning it twice a week and the reactor media got incredibly dirty.
