Can anyone tell me what this is on my rock?

I just started noticing this stuff about a week ago and it seems to be getting worse. Almost looks like a collection of dust. I hope someone can tell from the pics. I had a power head (suction cup) fall half way off and thought it was just sand at first. Obviously not! If you're talking about the pinkish purple stuff, that's coralline algae. It's good. Eventually all of your rocks will plate over with coralline.

I only had one power head (unknown size) until last night. I bought 2 new Korila's and have one on each side going now.

If you want to, next time you do a water change, put your old water in a bucket... get an old soft bristled toothbrush. place in bucket with old water and give it a light scrubbing. shake off excess and it'll be good as new. [smilie=nerd.gif]
