Calcium Reactor Questions

So, I'm taking a look at a Korallin reactor. I'm looking at automating cal/alk, and this looks like a better buy than an automatic doser.

Question 1: How does it work compared to a unit with a solenoid and PH controller hooked up to it? Frankly, I don't understand how a reactor can work without the solenoid and PH controller.

Question 2: Would it work out for 200 gallon system?

Question 3: Where are y'all going to get your CO2 bottles?

You need a selenoid to turn the unit on and off.

You need a pH controller to measure the pH of the tank and one to measure the pH of the effluent to know when to turn it on and off.

Not sure ... my dual chamber reactor is way too powerful for my 90g, but i bought it so if I upgade its not an issue.

You can get them from home depot or AirGas. Don't get them filled at an LFS because its too expensive. Check out the link to local fish stores and it has the gas stores on there as well.

The Korallin doesn't use a PH controller, just the regulator/solenoid.

The GEO does, that's another CA Rx that I'm looking into.

I'm looking at one or the other (Korallin 1502 or GEO 612) for my tank within the next few months.

I don't know of any calcium reactor that has a built-in pH monitor. I use the ACIII and it has 2 pH probes. One to monitor my sump water and the other to monitor my effluent.

I use the MRC dual chamber with AQUARIUMPLANTS.com's Co2 Regulator and it works great.
