CA / Alk supplements.

Ok, this may be the wrong way to approach this but...

I saw a podcast, I think ReefVideos or something that explained a two part calcium/alk mixture that he mixed up in two liter bottles at a time. I can't remember the exact products used at the moment and also he mixed a Mg solution from epsom salts that gets used at a rate of about 1/12th of the other solutions. My question is how would you dose the CA/Alk solutions? Is there a per gallon/ppm ratio I missed? I can watch it again and try to get the formulas but at no time did I catch a dosing scheme.

Any ideas of what I'm babbling about?

each tank is going to have different needs based on how much gets used up by hard corals, snails, clams etc

There is a link that has a good starting point but it's best to always check (test) to see how much you need to add. I think it's in Randy's article

there is also a link to a calculator for dosing to get to from where you are to a desired amount

I don't have the links with me so if someone else does please post them or I can later today after I get home

and the usage table is in this write up about 1/2 way down

Thank you - I'll look through it.
