Bullet-2 Skimmer

Does anyone out there have a Bullet-2 skimmer. I bought a used one a few months ago and I am trying to get it operating now. The instructions suggest having the outflow above the water surface but I can't do that with my set up. The drain is about 3 inches submerged right now and I have it on a riser. I have set it up as per the instructions and the bubbles are only making it half way up the large tube. Is the Becket venturi supposed to have water in the clear tube section? This one does. I have a mag18 running it as suggested and have the air venturi backed off as suggested also. Any other words of advice would be appreciated. Is this how it should be acting during the break in period?

Just an update for those of you that have looked, the foam has reached the second tube now and I have taken care of the micro-bubble problem by rotating the skimmer 180 degrees in the sump. Still would like to know about the injector and water level in it if anyone has any ideas?

Your are probably right on the submerged outlet. I will have to look for a higher stand to put it on. All the foam disappeared when it shut off for feeding time. Back to square one.

i have a bullett 2 and the outlet is submerged , seems to be working fine for me I just set the gate valve so the water level in the first chamber is as described. what's your flow to the beckett? if lower then about 1400gph you will have to raise the water lvel in the first chamber some

I saw a noticable difference in performance when I did not have the output submerged. :wink: I actually bought the DAS skimmer I have now but then changed the output so that it's half submerged. The beckett outskimmed the DAS I think after this change. That was just my experience, mileage may vary. :wink:

The pump is a mag 18 so it should be pumping more that 1400 gph. It looks to be working fine today. The foam is making it to the top cup now.
