Bulb Tip Anemone question

New member here.
I recently bought a Bulb Tip Anemone for my Nano tank. Is it normal for them to "hunker down" at certain times? It will come out and look very healthy the majority of the time but for no reason I can discern it will slide into a crevass and "hunker down" for 4 or 5 hours. :? Also will ocellaris clowns take to this Anemone :?:

They do expand and contract quite a bit as they acclimate to a new tank. However, a nano is usually considered too small for these guys (they can get to 16-18" easily in our tanks given good conditions.) How long has the tank been up, and how stable are the parameters? They really require good light, a stable, mature tank, and decent flow- all things that a nano often lacks.

Scott is right on with regard to requirements. Once you determine that your nano's environment is also right on for a bta, this anemone is not a natural host for ocellaris, but it will serve as a host for ocellaris in captivity. It will outgrow the nano, but you can prolong its stay by not overly feeding it. Less food, less growth.

Hi there,

I have a 29 Boi Cube that I put a bta in about 2 weeks ago. He has done his far share of moving around but has finally found a place that he likes. He backs in and out of a hole during certian times of the day but otherwise does quite well. I have only had my tank up for a little over 2 months. On top of that my clown loves it. Everyones tank is different though. Just though I would let you know how mine is doing.

Best of luck!!
