What size tubing are you using now? And is it staying perfectly round said:
I'll try to take a picture.

It is actually the expensive pool tubing...1 inch, so it shouldn't be kinking at all.

That looks like a pretty good solution, but that poses two problems.

I don't have an auto-topoff system, so after just one day, that water would be dropping down pretty far.

I don't have bulkheads on my refuge/sump unfortunately.

You don't need a bulkhead, that is just a fancy way of doing it. You can secure it to the side of your sump with a couple of plastic hangers (like used for a wreath) and zip ties.

You should top off your tank daily to avoid salinity shifts. Letting it go long enough to be noisy is a great way to remind yourself to top off.

Marc do you mind making a drawing of this reverse durso you are talking about.

I think I know what you mean, but I would like to know for sure before I go to lowes.

Thanks!

Man, I just saw a picture of it a couple of days ago buried in an old RC thread. Oh well, I found this on Google that is somewhat similar.

Just came across this drawing, that in theory should work as well.

I am battling this with my new 150...thanks for all the advice!!
I'll have to get my husband to read it though, so he can fix the problem :D

Ok, I have made the Hofer Gurgle Buster (love saying that), but I am in need of some bulkheads to work with my overflow box that has a 1.25 hole. Anyone know of a place that sells bulkheads that I can actually test fit?
