Bubble Magus Curve Protein Skimmer

a month or two ago, I was in the market for a protein skimmer for my new tank .. on the suggestion of Pampee, I purchased one of the Bubble Magus Curve protein skimmers ... here is my experience ...

Upon arrival, it was packaged very well ... instructions were okay and assembly was a breeze (this is probably the 15th skimmer I have owned, so, that may have helped. Once the skimmer was installed, I was very impressed with how quiet it was ... very impressed ...

after running it for a while, it pulls a lot of crap out ... thick nasty nog that we all want to see out of our skimmer ... to this point, I would highly recommend this skimmer.

I cleaned the cup yesterday and will give it another 3-4 days and then take a picture of the collection cup
 
one option on the pump is to purchase the sea side aquatics branded skimmers ... they take the same skimmer and swap out the pump for a more reliable pump
 
I stand corrected actually ... had to check with Sea Side Aquatics .. the new curve skimmers come with an upgraded pump that is not the Atman brand pumps that are known for failure ... Sea Side does not recommend upgrading the pump as they have had no reports of any failures with the upgraded pump.

yes, it has been a great skimmer to this point ... I don't recall being as happy with a skimmer to this in the past ...

I finally took some pictures ... this is the collection cup after 4 days of skimming ... bear in mind this is on a 29 gallon tank with no fish ... minimal live rock ... I am still amazed it is pulling this much crud
