Brother's tang has ich now!

[hi - well, what we were afraid of has happened - my brother, who had a sohal, yellow and regal blue in his tank, has a problem -- we were able to catch the sohal who had been harrassing the yellow tang for the past week, currently, it is the yellow and regal blue in his tank - the regal blue is fine and eating well, but the yellow has now developed ich - he is too shy to catch with the fish trap, so, short of breaking the entire tank down and quarantining all the fish, what can he do - i have recommended feeding more food with garlic and zoecon - raising the tank temp. and keeping the ph aroud 8.3 -- is this something that could be attributed to the harassment from the sohal?? will the yellow make a recovery?? thanks -==

on a side note, i went ahead and caught my sohal that was doing fine and playing nice and returned him to the lfs - i didn't want to risk it! too bad, he was beautiful!

any help would be greatly appreciated!]

thanks for the reply - i was afraid of that - if he decides to break the tank down - he should go ahead and quarantine all of the fish correct?? which would need to be a large tank to hold all of the fish?? you generally need to keep them out of the main tank anywhere from 4-6 weeks correct??

do cleaner shrimps help all that much??

[Cleaner shrimp are marginal at best. Cleaner wrasses do better job, but when parasites are gone they will usually starve.
Hyposalinty is a definate ick removal tool, but cannot be done in a reef tank or with invertabrates, sharks.
I have heard of a product called Kick-Ich, supposedly reef safe, and have heard of success stories in reef situations using it.

[brother said the ich is getting worse - more spots and larger ones --- we will keep an eye on him - brother says he is not too optimistic about catching him w/o breaking the entire tank down - hopefully he will fight through this! thanks... i think my brother has a 6 line wrasse and a peppermint shrimp - thanks.
