Boiling aiptasia?

[Ever thought of just putting the rock with aiptasia into boiling water? Any bad side effects?

All my parameters are good to go to put in some corals but the aiptasia prevents me from doing so. Joe's juce hasn't had much of an effect yet.]

[if you have access to a syringe, you might inject boiling water into the pest, or some other fluid. My Diabetic g/f gave me a few needles to take care of tank pests.]

[I would consider killing everything beneficial on the rock including the bacteria and corralline a pretty bad side effect!

Joes Juice works well so I'm not sure of your exact issues. Is there just to many of them?

You migh consider putting in several peppermint shrimp and letting them munch on them!]

[I took the rock out (25lb), used kent's liquid calcium. Watched them turn to goo, then scraped em off. I did that to aiptasias and mojanos.]

[Ditto on the JJ and peppermints. A two-pronged approach is best-hit the big, visible ones with the jj and let the pepps get the small hidden ones. If you don't want to buy JJ, make your own. Pickling lime/kalk mixed into a heavy cream with vinagar dropped into the mouth and on top with an eye-dropper works great! Boiling the whole rock is not a good idea. Keep in mind that any aipt. control method requires more than one application. You have to hit them up at least a couple times a week as they appear until they are gone. My aipt. invasion lasted about 1 month using this method with 2 peppermints for backup. I have been aipt free now for at least 5 months.]

[yea I have peppermint shrimp and JJ, also a racoon butterfly that's been pecking at the rocks, not sure if he's learned that those bastards are food yet]
