Blue tort not doing well...update - RTNing!!!

My blue tort is starting to not extend the polyps the way it used to (it used to be positively hairy!).

I've been working on bringing up my Ca and Mg levels over the past 3 months, and I'm pretty close (from 220 to 390-400 on the Ca, so almost there). Mg getting there, too - although it was not as low as the Ca.

My other SPS are doing really well - lots of polyp extention.

Any ideas? I'd like to take action (by either banking it with someone for a while or other idea) before it's too late! It's still blue and some polyps are still out - just not all the way.

I feed them coral food about 3 times a week along with the fish food, turn off the powerheads for 30 minutes on my wavemaker, etc. So that isn't the issue. And I haven't seen any parasites, bugs, etc.

I wouldn't do anything just yet. SPS polyp extension isn't necessarily an indicator of good health..sometimes they just get finicky. If it starts losing color or tissue, then I would consider taking action.

Could you post your parameters for:
Alk?
NO3?
Mg?
pH?

My ORA blue tort is still hairy. I read somewhere on reefcentral that sometimes corals that are too hairy means that they are needing to be feed. There may be a possiblity that you have overfeed your sps corals and they are not extending as much for food. If you parameters are fine for the above, then I would agreed with GraviT and leave it alone.

It was pretty much a frag (a large frag), so the healthy bits I got are pretty small. We'll see... :-(

Actually you should check for AEFW as well. Do a lugol iodine dip and see if any fall off.
You can put some saltwater in the fridge and use it to dip as well.
