Blue Throat Trigger, yea..

I've had him for a month now, I think it might be safe to say he is officially reef safe. Hasn't touched a thing, and is a nice mate to my Tangs. Anyone else had luck with these guy's?

You ready for that female now. They are great fish and reef safe. :D said:
Dennis,

My yellow Tang (sucks had him for 5+ years) died the other day, is there any advantage of having a male/female? I might take you up on it.

They will not spawn. They apparrently need deep water for that. They will hang together in the tank after a while, the females are a little more blue/silver in their overall coloring but do not have a blue chin and are smaller. They are very closly related to the Crosshatch Trigger but only cost about 1/10 as much! They will hide for a coupe of days after being placed in a new tank also, but they will eventually come out and eat as much as the male  No advantage except you have two great reef safe fish that are very entertaining to watch. :D

They are great fish. We don't have one right now but did in the past. They are about as docile as triggers can get. We currently have a sargassum and crosshatch in our reef.

they had a bluethroat at tranqual escapes yesterday cant rember if it was a male or female.

man Pampee, you do some driving! Flower Mound to South Arlington "just" for an LFS? Thats almost as bad as me!

Then again....I'm meeting with a 12-step group next wednesday, maybe you should come too?

hahaha

J_G from austin reef club was in town and I picked up some stuff from him. He was staying in Arlington and I told him about Tranqual Escapes and True Percula...So I met him there and plus I wanted to get some corals

Believe me, I kinda thought a bunch of people on here were border-line crazy for what they were spending on some stuff.....then my tank fully cycled...and now I have a seperate savings account for corals......hahahaha

Heck, I will drive over to True Perc or Tranquil (its only a 15-20 minute ride for me) just to look. Its like I have this running calculator in my head of the things I want, things I need, things I want to need, etc.

I have a pair in my 450G and absolutely love them and while they don't spawn they do swim together and do cool "ritual" type snuggling when the lights start going out. Really awesome fish. I've had mine for almost a year and no issues, have 6 cleaner shrimp and tons of inverts in there with a mix of big and little fish.
