Can anyone tell me if this foam is safe to use in the aquarium to do my rock/foam wall? I found this in the pond and waterfall section of HD.

Any issues zed? Anyone else? I know that lots of people have used the great stuff foam but I haven't found it locally at all.

Nope no issues. I still have a bunch of epoxy I will sell also if you are looking for some.

Great Stuff is back by the insulation at the lewisville HD. Its on an endcap facing the back wall.

The epoxy should not be needed for the black foam. I just used it to glue the sand on to give it a more natural look.

Thanks to BrianG for coming over to help. This is the new foam wall. It's still drying. I'll post another pic when its cured and i have rinsed some of the loose sand off.

Man I was hoping for a few more images or a great video in between your before and after shot!

How did you make the foam rocks looks so real in amongst the few pieces of live rock?

Did you add any additional rocks or just those in the first photo?

The main thing I have to say is not running a single line of foam and running another line besided it. Make different patterens when applying the foam. Also be sure to put the sand on right away, lots of it. We used a combonation of special grade reef floor sand and sugar sized agro sand. The sugar sized was wet and kind stuck together. it allows you to "crater" the foam somewhat. Ill try and do a sample video sometime. If you ever want help let me know im happy to do so.

There is always the rock salt method as well.. while the foam is still damp, put rock salt on it and let it cure... then soak the foam and let the rock salt dissolve away leaving craters..

And its in the tank. If you notice, the power filter at the top left of the tank actually has its own tunnle to hide the stem of the filer, its open on the top and the bottom to allow water to enter the filter box. That box will eventually be split into two compartments to house a bag of carbon and the other side to house a small amount of dragons breath which will be lit by a single led ( i think) i may modify the led and put a small piece of acrylic over it to allow the light from the leds over the tank to flood into the box.
