Biopellets on new tank??

I am starting a Nuvo 38. I just got water in it and am starting the cycle so I won't be adding anything for a few weeks. That said, I'm considering running biopellets on this tank to try and prevent algae breakouts and such.

My question is, should I start them now during the cycle? Most of what I've seen about them is a reaction to nitrate/phosphate problems. Is it a bad idea to start out with them on day 1?

I started mine day one on my tank setup. It takes them like 6 weeks to start working.

I figured it would be a good opportunity to let the bacteria grow and populate as the tank cycles. That way there is no sudden crash of nitrates and no shock to the system.

X2 on this...when I started my newest tank I was advised to run the full amount from the start. No issues at all, just be sure you keep your Alk in spec since mine always tries to run low with Biopellets.

Wish alk ran lower, with my cal reactor it always runs high. Still working on dialing it down.
