best way to dislodge clam

My maxima started to look puny this week. Went over to RC and there was an article this month on clams. Long story short, got out the flashlight and there the little tiny pyramid snails were. Article told me how to get rid of them but my clam is attached to the bottom glass under the sand. How do I get it loose without soft tissue damage?

The powerhead would blow away the snails Im trying to get rid of. They hide in the base in light and come out at night to feed. Hoping to do a quick kill before they spread to my other clams. Going to pick up a 6 line wrasse this weekend as they are a predator to these snails. Matt should I just use a razor blade on the strands?

Good luck with that. I've had pyramid snails for 2 years now and have yet to eliminate them. I tried to get all of them off before transferring my livestock to my new system..hopefully, I did a good job.

Be aware that if you have astrea snails, you will need to take them out and scrub 'em as well. Pyram snails love those guys.
