Best place for cleaning crew types

Anybody have any recommendations on good places to get cleaning crews. Putting up a 105G FOWLR want worms, pods, blue legged hermits, scarlet hermits, and narcissus snails. Also interested in some shrimps and perhaps an emerald crab as livestock.

I'm also doing a (settled on) 5" DSB in the display tank, any other stirrers I should be looking at (or avoiding)?

Don't mind LFS or online, just don't know where the good deals are these days.

Thanks,

H

Google Just Phish. I've found them to have great prices on some inverts, especially scarlets. Reeftopia and Keys Critters are two other online vendors to use as a comparison.

You just missed a group but with Just Phish. Maybe you could host another one. You might get free shipping if you have enough people wanting to buy in with you.

I've been going over my ancient bookmarks and remember liking IPSF.com a lot. Anybody have any comments on them? I remember getting mix-and-match packages from them there were nice and healthy (but that was like 7 years ago).

I'm also interested in cleanup crew purchase - setting up a new tank.

Maybe there is a interest for group buy in mid-cities area?

I'm down in midlothian (and work near downtown Dallas), but I'm sure I could make it over if we can get one going.

Anybody else?

I'm a big believer in using only scarlet hermits. As an example of pricing, Blue Zooaquatic's best price for scarlets is $2.12, while Just Phish's best price is $1.00. These are not small hermits, based on a number of past GB's.

Why do you say scarlet only? Typically I've had great luck with blue-legged also, but always open to new thoughts.

That $1.00 price is for lots of 100. If you buy 12 it is $2.00 each

I have seen the red legs and white legs from Blue Zoo eat cyano. Not that they wouldn't else where. But the size variations on the scarlet (which i like) vs the blue/red legs is pretty big. The Blue/Red legs get into places the scarlets can not.

When I used scarlets as an example, I indicated the BEST price available. Just Phish 's BEST price is $1.00, and yes it's for 100. If a GB were conducted, numbers would exceed 100. Blue Zooaquatics BEST price is $2.12 for lots of 25+. Even at 100 it's $2.12. I'm just trying to show the BEST price for this item in a GB setting.

Regarding using scarlets exclusively, I just feel scarlets are by far the most docile hermit crab. Blues appear to actually prey on snails more so than scarlets. Tha'ts not to say that a scarlet won't chow down on an upturned snail. They are opportunistic. This has been bantered about on posts for some time. There are others that feel the same way. It's just basically a preference I have.

I'm needing to replace much of my cleanup crew....I was just about to look at ordering a lot, but I'd be interested in a group buy if it were soon.
